PRESENTATION DATE 26 th March at 16:00.
Learning a language is a lifelong commitment.
Our aim is to ensure children understand and learn to love the culture of France primarily
and to gain good listening and speaking skills which will hold them in good stead for the rest
of their life.
French cultural festivals are introduced through lively role play, games, bingos, songs and
activities to make them enjoyable and memorable.
It is a pleasure to teach your children and I hope they enjoy it as much as we do. If you have

TOPIC THEMES and VOCABULARY - Food and drinks. Je mange (I eat) un GATEAU (a cake), des
FRITES (chips), un sandwich au fromage (a cheese sandwich), du poisson (fish), une pizza, de la salad,
du jambon (ham). Je bois du lait (milk), de l’eau (water), un jus d’orange.
Au MARCHE (at the market): des tomates, des pommes de terre (potatoes), des carottes, des bananes,
des pommes (apples).
GAMES: Le jeu de Kim, the train game, lotto.
AU CAFE: how to order something to drink and eat – je voudrais (I would like), MERCI.
Fruit and vegetables. Shops: Boulangerie (baker), Poissonnerie (fishmonger), Boucherie (butcher). The
children will prepare a shopping list and they will go and shop.
TOPIC THEMES : SONGS – ‘J’aime la baguette’, ‘pomme, poire cherise’.
FESTIVALS and FESTIVITIES – Fathers’ day and the 14 th July.
