Chennestone - French - Progress Report

CLUB : Chennestone
TEACHER : Grace Venkatasawmy
TERM: Summer Term (May 2018)
Our aim is to ensure children understand and learn to love the culture of France and to gain good
listening and speaking skills. It is a pleasure to teach your children and I hope they enjoy as much as

Topics covered :
Les legumes (vegetables) - Chou (cabbage), carottes, petits-pois (peas), brocoli, oignons (onions),
champignons (mushrooms), pomme de terre (potato).
Le petit déjeuner (breakfast) - Tartines (toasts), croissant, pain au chocolat, chocolat chaud (hot
chocolate), le lait (milk), céréales, jus d’orange (orange juice).
Les vêtements (items of clothing) - Robe (dress), jupe (skirt), chaussettes (socks), chaussures(shoes),
t-shirt, short, chapeau (hat).
We are still working on our numbers up to 20 and new colours - Marron (brown), violet (purple).
During each lesson we work on je mange ( I am eating), je bois (I am drinking), je dors ( I am
sleeping), je marche (I am walking), je saute ( I am jumping), j’ai chaud ( I am hot), j’ai froid ( I am
cold), j’ai faim (I am hungry) and j’ai soif ( I am thirsty).
FOR THE REST OF THE TERM WE WILL COVER :
The summer holidays - Means of transport, foods, a couple of summer activities.
We will continue to practice ordering food or drink and will consolidate on our numbers and colours. We will
add on to our vocabulary - I am cycling/reading/playing/swimming/sleeping.
