Burlington Infant French - Progress Report

CLUB: BURLINGTON INFANT
TEACHER: BAHAR MOMENI
TERM: SUMMER 2018
PRESENTATION: 09/07/2018 AT: 4.20 PM

Our aim is to ensure children understand and learn to love the culture of France and to gain good
listening and speaking skills. We use lively role play, games, bingos, songs and activities to make
French culture both enjoyable and memorable.
It is a pleasure to teach your children and I hope they enjoy as much as we do. If you have specific
questions, please see me after the club or send an email to sarah@childrensclubs.com
GAMES AND ACTIVITIES:
We always start each session with greeting and basic polite words, we revised numbers, colours and
days of the week. We have learned the following subjects: “les meubles”(the furniturea) ex: la
chaise, le lit; “les transports” ex: la voiture, le train; “les nourritures”(foods) ex: la baguette, le
fromage; “la salle de classe”(the class room) ex: le prof, le bureau; “le temps qu’il fait”(the weather)
ex: il pleut, il neige. For each subject we played related games to reinforce the vocabulary already
learned. We played games like “bingo”, “Jacques a dit”(the French version of Simon says) to help
children learn vocabulary through actions and miming (each week some new actions are added up to
the old ones) and “le mechant loup”(the big bad wolf) for learning the body part. We try to revise
the vocabularies learned before as well as numbers. At the end of each lesson we had and activity
sheet with the same theme.
