Burlington Infant French- Report

Burlington Infant French - Progress Report

CLUB: BURLINGTON INFANT
TEACHER: BAHAR MOMENI
TERM: SPRING 2019

Our aim is to ensure children understand and learn to love the culture of France and to gain good
listening and speaking skills. We use lively role play, games, bingos, songs and activities to make
French culture both enjoyable and memorable.
It is a pleasure to teach your children and I hope they enjoy as much as we do. If you have specific
questions, please see me after the club or send an email to sarah@childrensclubs.com
GAMES AND ACTIVITIES:
The new children are settled well in the group and participate well in games and activities. We
always start each session with greetings and basic polite words. We play games like“Jacques a
dit”(the French version of Simon says) to help children to expand their vocabulary through actions
and miming. (each week new actions are added up to the old one) Some of new vocabulary is: je
joue le piano (I play the piano), je joue le football, je lis (I read), j’ecris (I write), je dessine (I draw),
j’ai peur (I am scared). We also learn the following subjects: Les pièces de la maison (rooms in the
house): la cuisine (kitchen), la chambre (bedroom); Les meubles (furniture): la chaise (chair), la table;
J’aime (I like), je n’aime pas (I don’t like), j’adore(I love) and je déteste (I hate). We practice to make
short sentences with all the vocabulary learned.
For the rest of the term we do following subjects:
Au marché (In the market)
Où habites tu? (Where do you live?)
Comment s’appelle? (What is her/his name?)
Les animaux de la mer
La fête de Pâques (Easter) en France
