TERM SPRING 2019
FIRST HALF TERM
TOPIC THEMES – Los Animales de Compañía (Pets), Los Animales De La Granja (Farm Animals)
VOCABULARY – The new starters have settled in really well this term. Each session we practise the numbers
and the colours with games and songs. For the first half of term we have been focusing on pets and farm animals
and we have so far covered the following vocabulary – ‘el perro’ (dog), ‘el gato’ (cat), ‘el caballo’, (horse), ‘el
cerdo’ (pig), ‘el pato’ (duck), ‘la vaca’ (cow), ‘el pez’ (fish), ‘el burro’ (donkey) ‘la gallina’ (hen), ‘la oveja’ (sheep),
‘el conejo’ (rabbit), ‘el ratón’ (mouse), ‘la rata’ (rat), ‘el granjero’ (farmer), ‘la granja’ (farm). We have also been
practising the phrase ‘mi animal preferido es…’ (my favourite animal is…)

Del Bosque (Woodland Animals)
VOCABULARY – For the rest of term, we shall continue with our topic of animals and shall be learning the
additional vocabulary – ‘el león’ (lion), ‘el tigre’ (tiger), ‘el mono’ (monkey), ‘el cocodrilo’ (crocodile), ‘la jirafa’
(giraffe), ‘la serpiente’, ‘el elefante’ (elephant), ‘el cebra’ (zebra), ‘el loro’ (parrot), ‘la ballena’ (whale), ‘el tiburón’
(shark), ‘el cangrejo’ (crab), ‘la sirena’ (mermaid), ‘el mar’ (sea), ‘el lobo’ (wolf), ‘el ciervo’ (deer), ‘el oso’ (bear),
‘el cuco’ (cuckoo), ‘el búho’ (owl), ‘el bosque’ (wood).
