TERM - SUMMER 2018
FIRST HALF TERM
TOPIC THEMES – Los Muebles (furniture), Las Habitaciónes (rooms of the house), Numbers 1 - 20
VOCABULARY – The new starters have settled in really well this term. Each lesson we practise the colours –
‘rojo’ (red), ‘azul’ (blue), ‘verde’ (green), ‘amarillo’ (yellow), ‘blanco’ (white), ‘rosa’ (pink), ‘morado’ (purple),
‘naranja’ (orange), ‘negro’ (black). We have also been practising how to count up to 20. This half of term we
have been learning the following vocabulary for items relating to the house – ‘la pared’ (wall), ‘el tejado’ (roof), ‘la
puerta’ (door), ‘la ventana’ (window), ‘la chimenea’ (chimney), ‘la casa’ (house), and the following rooms in the
house – ‘la cocina’ (kitchen), ‘el salón’ (living room), ‘el dormitorio’ (bedroom), ‘el cuarto de baño’ (bathroom). We
then learnt the following items of furniture – ‘la mesa’ (table), ‘la televisión’ (television), ‘la silla’ (chair), ‘la
alfombra’ (carpet), ‘el lavabo’ (sink), ‘la ducha’ (shower), ‘el baño’ (bath), ‘el sofá’ (sofa), ‘la lámpara’ (lamp) la
cama (bed).

FOR THE REST OF THE TERM WE WILL COVER
TOPIC THEMES – Numbers 20 – 30, El Jardín (garden), Los Insectos (insects) Las Verduras (vegetables)
VOCABULARY – For the rest of term, we shall be learning numbers 1 – 30. We will also be learning the following
vegetables: ‘la zanahoria’ (carrot), ‘el col’ (cabbage), ‘el tomate’ (tomato), ‘el rabano’
(radish), ‘el champiñón’ (mushroom), ‘los guisantes’ (peas), ‘la patata’ (potato), ‘el puerro’ (leek), ‘el
maíz’ (sweetcorn), ‘la cebola’ (onion), ‘el calabacín’ (courgette), ‘el brocoli’ (broccoli). We will be revising the
phrases me gusta and no me gusta (I like/I do not like…) We will then move onto the garden (el jardín) and
learn the following garden vocabulary: ‘la flor’ (flower), ‘el árbol’ (tree), ‘el pájaro’ (bird), ‘el sol’ (sun) and the
following insects: ‘la gusano’ (worm), ‘la araña’ (spider), ‘la hormiga’ (ant), ‘la mosca’ (fly), ‘la pulga’ (flea), ‘la
mariposa’ (butterfly), ‘la mariquita’ (ladybird).
